Participants will gain the knowledge and strategies necessary to organize their classroom to differentiate curriculum and instruction for their gifted students. This 5-day training was created with the adult learner in mind; there will be many opportunities to practice and implement strategies and create assignments that teachers will be able to use immediately. Although the focus of this training is on meeting the needs of gifted students, all students benefit from differentiation. Upon completion, teachers will receive a county-approved GATE certificate. Topics include:
- The Four Areas of Differentiation
- Characteristics of Gifted Students
- Interdisciplinary Thematic Instruction
- The Thirteen Principles of Differentiation
- The Icons of Depth and Complexity
- Questioning Strategies
