Bilingual Teacher Training Program
The Bilingual Teacher Training Program (BTTP) assists kindergarten through grade twelve teachers who already possess a basic credential and want to attain the authorization required by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) to provide
English Language Development (ELD), Specially Designed Academic Instruction in English (SDAIE), and / or primary language instructional services to English learners.
CLAD Authorization
California Teachers of English Learners (CTEL) Examination
This examination provides a pathway to CLAD authorization for teachers who hold a Multiple Subjects or Single Subject Credential
and for teachers trained outside of California seeking authorization to teach ELD and SDAIE Instruction. CTEL Exam, dates and

CLAD Certification through the SB 1292
CERTIFICATION OF COMPLETION OF STAFF DEVELOPMENT (CCSD)
ACOE provides this as on online CCSD course which authorizes teachers to provide SDAIE for English learners. Eligibility for this pathway includes only the following:
- ROTC teachers with or without a credential
- Career Technical Education teachers
- Teachers who hold a DesignatedSubjects or Service Credentials with a special class authorization.

California Subject Examinations for Teachers:
Languages Other Than English (CSET LOTE)
Beginning December 2007, the BCLAD series was replaced by CSET:LOTE Subtests III, IV, and V. These examinations provide a means to bilingual authorization through examination.
