Region 4 / SPAN After School Programs
The Region 4/SPAN Afterschool Programs Office is supported by grants from the California Department of Education to provide training and technical assistance to K-12 afterschool programs funded by the state After School Education and Safety Program (ASES) and 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) within the seven Bay Area counties of Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Mateo, San Francisco and Solano.
We work with grantees at the county, district, agency, and site levels, and at every stage of program development from planning and implementation to sustainability and alignment with the school day. We coordinate technical assistance services and resources throughout Region 4 in collaboration with local and statewide partners. We also provide direct training and services to grantees in support of increasing opportunities for students to participate in high quality STEM and arts learning programs and improving support for English language learners.
